Dr. McCabe graduated from Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She has been with Burleigh Road Animal Hospital since June 1993 and became the hospital owner in January 2002.
Dr. McCabe chose a career in veterinary medicine because she has always loved animals and medicine, and to combine these two loves has been the highlight of her life. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking, biking, playing tennis, and basketball. She also enjoys snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean.
Lara Berland, DVM
Dr. Berland is a Milwaukee native and excited to be back in her hometown! She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, then her veterinary degree from Ross University in St Kitts, finishing up with clinical rotations at the University of Florida.
Dr. Berland then returned to the Midwest to spend a year practicing emergency and critical care at a local referral hospital. In her free time, Dr. Berland enjoys sailing and scuba diving in Lake Michigan, rock climbing, and cross country skiing.
She became a veterinarian because it combines her love of animals with an interest in practicing progressive, high-quality medicine.
Lisa Schultz, DVM
Dr. Schultz graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and joined our team after graduation.
Dr. Schultz chose a career in veterinary medicine because she has always had a love for animals, and wanted to look out for their well-being and help strengthen the bond between pets and their owners. She enjoys photography, camping, hiking, biking, skiing, and teaching Zumba.
Amy Ragoschke, DVM
Dr. Ragoschke is a native to the Milwaukee area, and is happy to call the city her home. She received her DVM from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been practicing in southeast Wisconsin since graduation.
Dr. Ragoschke was drawn to veterinary medicine by the desire to strengthen and preserve the human-animal bond through helping her patients live high quality lives. In her spare time, Dr. Ragoschke enjoys hiking, kayaking, gardening, and traveling.
